Frequently Asked Questions

How does The Pedal Library work?

Once you purchase a membership the library will automatically open. You will be able to borrow a pedal by adding it to your cart. Then we'll ship it straight to your door. When you're ready for something new, simply send it back and choose another pedal. No lock-in contracts, no commitment — just great tone.

How does shipping work?

We suggest getting an Auspost parcel locker - they're free and you can pick up and drop off securely anytime.

Members pay for return shipping. A return label will be sent with the pedal. You'll see the shipping cost at checkout when you request your pedal.

Standard shipping is $26 return and takes approx. 3-7 business days. Express shipping is $34 and takes approx. 1-4 business days.

We will be looking to reduce these costs when possible.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — monthly memberships can be cancelled at any time. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. So you can still borrow pedals until the end of the billing cycle. Eg you start a membership on the 1st January and cancel it on the 2nd of January but you can still borrow pedals until the 1st of February. *note that pedals must be returned and received by The Pedal Library prior to the end of your membership.

How long can I borrow a pedal for?

So long as your membership is current you can keep the pedal as long as you like*.

"but I wanted to borrow that pedal and someone else is keeping out for ages!"

If a pedal is constantly unavailable or in high demand we will add another to the library.

*this excludes pedals from the Boutique range.

What ranges do I have access to?

It depends on your membership tier. Starter accesses the Classics range, Explorer and Tone Chaser access Classics and Pro, and Studio Pro accesses all three ranges including Boutique once eligibility is met.

How do I access the Borrow Boutique?

Boutique access is available to Explorer, Tone Chaser, and Studio Pro members after 3 months of continuous membership and 3 completed hires. It is earned, not instant — and that is what makes it special. The Borrow Boutique page has full details.

How do I return a pedal?

Your pedal will arrive in the same box you will use to return it. A prepaid return label will be included inside the box. Simply put the pedal back in the box, stick the return label on it, tape it up and drop it off at your post office. We suggest getting an Auspost parcel locker - they're free and you can pick up and drop off anytime.

What if the pedal I want isn't available?

Select the "email me when available" tab and we'll email you when it becomes available.

If a pedal is constantly unavailable or in high demand we will add another to the library.

In an effort to make the process a fair as possible to all members:

  • We will email you as soon as it's on its way back. That way, if you currently have a pedal you will be able to return it in time to borrow the next pedal on your wish list.
  • You will need to respond to the email within 24hours so we know to hold it for you.
  • The waitlist is date and time stamped so you will be offered returning pedals when you are at the top of the list.
Future plans, pedal suggestion and unanswered questions.

We will be adding more pedals to The Pedal Library all the time. Please email us with suggestions and requests.

The Pedal Library exists for its members. It will grow and evolve based on your feedback. Please email any suggestions and feedback.

We hope to expand into a pedal exchange where you can add your own pedals to the library to be borrowed or for sale. Let us know if this interests you.
